SAC was started by a group of 7 IBM executives, system engineers, and programmers. Originally an IBM Authorized Value
Added Reseller (VAR), the Company sold and supported IBM S/36, S/38mid-range computer systems, with customer programming and support.
Their mission was to create an overall comprehensive system that would be used by companies selling equipment and requiring after sales
service and maintenance.
SAC has been a member of the North American Telecommunications Association since 1989.
SAC Inc., the leading developer and supplier of productivity-enhancing software for Interconnect companies, combines over twenty years of experience in Interconnect and Information Technology to create software products ideally suited to today’s Interconnect businesses.
SAC has achieved this success through its commitment to building a team of professionals who enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done, and understand the value of going out in the field, talking to users, listening to their needs and than acting on them.
By taking feedback from our customers and incorporating this into our software products, we create software solutions tailored to your specific needs. So instead of the headaches caused by inflexible, one-size-fits-all packages, you will get software that delivers real-life solutions with power and performance.
Our customer-oriented philosophy is reflected not only in our products, but also in our attitude, personalized service, and responsiveness. All in all, we have the unique expertise to fulfill your business needs with the right software and related services. After all, isn’t that what you should expect from a premier software developer?
Through intensive research and development activities, coupled with a full-time commitment to the Telephony industry, we are continually enhancing the functionality of SAC’s software products. It’s an ongoing process—one that incorporates feedback, testing, and quality assurances.
In 1981, the firm concentrated on the software support to its client base in several countries around the world (Germany, Mexico,
Argentina, and Italy).
Following this, in 1986 SAM (Service & Accounting Manager) software was successfully introduced to the North American Large Size Interconnect Business
(Alaska Telephone Utilities, AT&T Montreal, TSS Detroit, Accurate California, MIS Miami , Midcom Toronto, and Brant Communication Hamilton).
As an indication of the scope and magnitude, the complete system now contains 3000 programs, and approximately 10,000,000 lines of
source coding. All of which took about 35 man-years to write, test and debug. To the best of our knowledge, there is no other commercial
system in operation in North America that is as simple to operate yet provides management with such awesome control over their business
operations.
In 2007, IDM Software was launched to small & mid-size telephone sales and service companies.
